NSB Energy is pleased to announce that it has secured a contract with Tata Steel Minerals Canada (TSMC) to supply the Project Team for the commissioning of the Wet Processing Plant at TSMC’s Direct Shipping Ore (DSO) project in northern Labrador.

The DSO property is comprised of 25 hematite deposits with a resource potential of 122 million tonnes. Detailed exploration and mine planning has been undertaken to establish 59 million tonnes of reserves to date. The project involves mining, crushing, washing and screening the ore via a state-of-the art facility near Schefferville, Quebec. So far, TSMC has achieved sales of 4 million tonnes to customers in Europe and China and expects to reach 8 million tonnes by 2019-20. The company currently employs ~700 individuals.
